Pompeii, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius was a prosperous city known for its exports of olive oil, rose, myrtle and iris. Roman women, perfumed and elegant, would stroll through streets lined with sumptuous villas. This world of beauty and refinement shaped the essence of the fragrance. Recent archaeological finds inspired Jacques Rouché, the artistic director of the Maison, and perfumer Georges Darzens to create a fragrance capturing the timeless aura of this ancient Roman city.
